When I was in high school I had a chance meeting with Ansel Adams and was fortunate to be able to attend his summer workshops at Yosemite. I learned that before I trip the shutter I need to compose the final picture exactly the way I wanted it to come out in the developer tray. We didn't have Photoshop in those days to correct our mistakes.
After serving my time in the military, I took classes at Brooks Institute of Photography in Montecitio, California and attended glamour and fashion workshops presented by Peter Gowland in Santa Monica.
I worked as an assistant to a great photographer in San Francisco back in the early 1970s doing all of the projects he did not want to do. He gave me many opportunities to fine-tune my skills in the fashion and glamour photography fields.
I never did settle on photography as a career and instead went on to do other things in life. However, photography has always been one of the things I enjoy doing. I've been planning photo shoots that brings models, MUA / Stylist / Designers, and photographers together to create great images.
