Sammy Castillo

I am an aspiring artist and photographer. I wish to work with other artists that have that same drive and are motivated and willing to work hard to get the perfect shot. I am also a student, which means I have a small budget to work on and which is why I want to do a TFP deal with models and makeup artists.

I'm in the process of leaving for school to the East Coast in the Fall. And I would really love to do some shoots this summer with a solid makeup artist and a few great models and aspiring models.

Artist Statement:
I have always been intrigued in the mind, body, and spirit of females. Though, it would be impossible to understand a woman in a lifetime, I have always strived to capture one moment, one image, one frame where I can sit and attempt to analyze their thoughts, their dreams, their beauty, and everything in between that makes the woman such a complex and beautiful figure.

Alongside women, I also like to incorporate them in sexual and desirable poses and concepts. I have always thought that the best images are those that make the viewer think of what lies beyond the photo. Implied gestures, suggestive poses, and indulging eyes have been the focus for my subject matter. I have seen the modern day fashion and commercial photographs and somehow, I feel like they lack a deeper connection with the viewer. I want to make the viewer fall in love with the product by falling in love with the model first – something different than the “sex sells” motto.
